Potential COVID-19 Exposure on Centro Bus Routes Serving Syracuse University

The Onondaga County Health Department has confirmed that a passenger on several bus routes has tested positive for COVID-19. Members of the public who were passengers on the same routes during the same timeframes may have been exposed:

Centro Route SU 344-Connective Corridor, from College Place to the Nancy Cantor Warehouse, 350 W. Fayette St., Syracuse

Wednesday, September 16, 12:00pm-12:25pm 
Centro Route SU 443-Connective Corridor, from the Nancy Cantor Warehouse to College Place

Thursday, September 17, approximately 8:45am-9:20am 
Centro Route SU 43-Main Campus, from the intersection of Van Buren and Henry Streets to the SU Comstock Art Facility

Thursday, September 17, 12:14pm-12:21pm 
Centro Route SU 344-South Campus to College Place

Health Department investigators are in the process of identifying all close contacts of the individual and notifying them.

Centro Shuttle Service for Saturday, Sept. 5 and Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7

On Saturday, Sept. 5 the SU343 and the SU345 routes will be operating on their regular weekday schedule.  All other routes will be operating a regular Saturday schedule.

On Labor day, Monday, Sept. 7, all Syracuse University shuttles will be operating a regular Monday schedule.

Parking and Transit Services and Centro Working Together for Safe Campus Transportation

Syracuse University Parking and Transit Services Office is working closely with its partners at Centro and implementing changes to safeguard the health and safety of its passengers. The campus shuttles, buses and trolleys that crisscross campus will operate with different rules this semester to adhere to the latest public health guidance provided by Onondaga County and New York State.

Student Permit Pickup

Pre-purchased permits may be picked up at the Parking and Transit Services Office at 621 Skytop Road beginning on Monday, Aug. 17. Our office will be open during the following hours:

  • Monday, Aug. 17 through Wednesday, Aug.19: 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
  • Thursday, Aug. 20 and Friday, Aug. 21: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 22: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, Aug. 23: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Aug. 24 through Friday, Aug. 28: 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
