Crosswalk Repairs and Quad Construction Work

Beginning Thursday, July 30, through Monday, Aug. 24, Facilities Services and a local contractor are planning repairs that will affect parking in your area. Please take note of the following:

  • Crosswalk Repairs: From Thursday, July 30 through Saturday, Aug. 1, the Crouse Drive entrance to campus will be closed to complete repairs on the crosswalk on Crouse Drive (south of the Crouse Drive parking attendant booth) and to the crosswalk at the entrance to the Quad Lot (immediately west of Hendricks Chapel). To complete the work, all vehicles entering campus should proceed to the University Place entrance and through the open entry gate south of Crouse-Hinds Hall. For additional information, visit news.syr.edu.
  • Lot Closure: The Quad Lot will be closed for repairs on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, Aug. 1. If you need to be on campus during that time, your permit will be valid in Irving Ave. Hill lot, College Place lot, and the Carnegie lot.
  • Additional Construction: From Monday, Aug. 3 through Monday, Aug. 24, there will be a reduction of available parking spaces in the rear of the lot, approximately 20 spaces, for construction work.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and flexibility during this time.

Please feel free to contact Parking and Transit Services at 315.443.4652 or via email at parkmail@syr.edu with any questions or concerns or if you need alternative arrangements.

Fall 2020 Shuttle Service Changes

As we make preparations for students, faculty, and staff to return to campus, we would like to make you aware of changes that are forthcoming for the fall semester:

  • Due to the need for social distancing, additional buses will be made available during peak times to/from all North Campus and near campus areas including, Skytop, South Campus, Manley, and East Campus areas.
  • Based on past ridership studies, Centro will be making the following changes:
    • The fare free zone area will change. With the exception of riders on the Connective Corridor route, all riders using Centro service beyond the fare free zone area will be required to pay for service.
    • Nob Hill service beyond the intersection of Ainsley Ave.  and East Brighton Avenue will no longer be part of the fare free travel zone.
    • Centro will continue to offer James Street service and service beyond the intersection of Westcott Street and East Genesee Street will no longer be part of the fare free travel zone. Additionally, direct service from James Street to North Campus will be discontinued. Riders will have to take the service to the downtown hub and transfer to the University.
