Centro Fare Deal Program

SyracuseUniversity, in support of sustainability and a greener campus, has worked with Centro to allow employees who currently use mass transit, as well as those looking at mass transit as an alternative means of transportation, to purchase bus passes "pre-tax." Passes are available at the Office of Parking and Transit Services, 621 Skytop Road and at Cash Operations in the SchineStudentCenter.

You will need to fill out an application.

The costs of the passes are as follows:

$50 monthly pass (unlimited rides) in $1.25 fare zone
$60 monthly pass (unlimited rides) in $1.50 fare zone
Also available are $15/ $30.00 debit cards, $20/$14.50 10 Trip Passes (best utilized in Auburn and Fulton).

Faculty and staff must show a valid SU I.D. to use pre-tax payroll deductions option. Payment may also be made by check or cash.

The Employer Fare Deal Program includes a special feature for monthly Centro Pass holders - The Guaranteed Ride Home. If an emergency causes an employee to work late and miss the last scheduled bus or need to return home during work hours, Centro will guarantee that person a safe ride home. Under these circumstances, Centro may provide a taxi or similar arrangement to assure your employees receive transportation. This service cannot be used when extreme weather conditions cause the University to close. To schedule a ride in an emergency or work related situation, call Centro at 442-3400 during normal business hours; after 7p.m., please call 442-3326.
